HOW IT WORKS
STRATTICETM BIOLOGIC
MESH IS DIFFERENT FROM SYNTHETIC MESHES

STRATTICETM is a biologic mesh made from animal tissue that is designed to integrate into, or become part of, the body’s own tissue. There are other mesh options available:

  •  Permanent synthetic mesh stays in the body and can be made from different types of plastic
  • Absorbable synthetic mesh, made from different types of plastic, are designed to fully or partially break down in the body over time

HOW THE BODY REACTS TO STRATTICETM BIOLOGIC MESH

In animal studies, the body reacted differently depending on the type of mesh material used.

Synthetic Material IconSynthetic Material IconSynthetic Material Icon
The body can have a negative reaction to the synthetic material in certain meshes. The negative reaction can lead to scar tissue
